Wessen Geschäft Ist Es Eigentlich?

Als Berufs- und Geschäftsmenschen sind wir täglich im Geschäftsleben beteiligt. Ich überwache meine Finanzdienstleistungspraxis seit über 35 Jahren. Eine Frage, die wir uns immer stellen sollten ist: „Wem gehört dieses Geschäft eigentlich?“

 

Die meisten würden stolz antworten: „Es ist unser (mein) Geschäft.“ – eine typische Antwort für ein Familienunternehmen. Größere Unternehmen gehören normalerweise einer Gruppe von Partnern oder Aktionären. Oft hat eine kleine Gruppe von Aktionären die Kontrolle über große Unternehmen.

 

Ich denke, wir machen uns etwas vor wenn wir meinen, das Geschäft gehört uns. Die Bibel sagt, wem in der Tat alles gehört! Es gehört unserem himmlischen Vater, doch er erlaubt uns, Geschäfte für einige Zeit zu betreuen während wir hier sind. Oft geben wir die Erbschaft an die nächste Generation weiter. Doch früher oder später kommt alles zu Gott zurück. Es ist alles Teil seiner wunderbaren Fürsorge. Aus meiner Sicht ist Arbeit gut. Sie sollte keine Schinderei sein, doch um uns wirklich an ihr zu erfreuen, müssen wir die richtige Perspektive haben. Ich werde Ihnen als Beispiel etwas aus meinem eigenen geistlichen Leben berichten.

 

Einige Monate vor meinem 40. Geburtstag machte ich einen Sprung von einem Unternehmen zu Finanzdienstleistungen. Da ich vorher nie etwas verkauft hatte wusste ich, dass ich ein großes Risiko einging. Ja, ich hatte Fähigkeiten, die den Sprung vereinfachten, doch es gab keine Erfolgsgarantie. Ich wusste nur, dass ich aus der Unternehmenskultur rauskommen musste.

 

Ich war immer unternehmend in meinem Denken und neigte zum Freigeist. New York Life war gewillt, das Risiko auf sich zu nehmen und mich zu trainieren, und 35 Jahre später arbeite ich immer noch für sie.

 

Das erste Jahr erwies sich als echte Herausforderung. Ich wählte einen neuen Verkaufsleiter, nachdem mein erster Vorgesetzter eine andere Zentrale übernahm und der zweite zum Verkauf zurückging. Kurz vorher hatte ich Jesus mein Leben übergeben, deshalb entschied ich mich, mit jemand zu arbeiten, den ich als starken Christen bewunderte. Es war ein gewaltiger Segen und später wurde ich zu einer Stelle als Verkaufsleiter berufen.

 

In meinem vierten Jahr lernte ich das CBMC (Christian Business Men’s Connection) kennen. Beziehungen, die ich in dieser Organisation aufbaute, gaben mir die nötigen Werkzeuge und Ermutigung, um in herausfordernden Zeiten geistlich stark zu bleiben. Eine der wichtigsten Lektionen, die ich lernte war, mich an die Frage zu halten: „Wem gehört das Geschäft eigentlich?“

 

Es gibt viele Bücher über den Erfolg im Geschäftsleben. Für mich ist eines der besten das von Jim Collins Der Weg zu den Besten : Die sieben Management-Prinzipien für dauerhaften Unternehmenserfolg. Collins schreibt, das die Größe eines Unternehmens nicht leicht kommt. Ich würde hinzufügen: Die Größe kommt, wenn man erkennt, dass Gott in der Tat der Eigentümer ist – und die schätzt, die im Unternehmen arbeiten, während Gott die Ehre für alle Erfolge bekommt.

In Lukas 12,16-21 erzählt Jesus das Gleichnis vom reichen Mann, der seine Scheunen abbrach und sie viel größer neu aufbaute. Er hatte reichen Ertrag gehabt: „Und dann werde ich mich zurücklehnen und mir sagen: Mein Freund, du hast für Jahre genug eingelagert. Genieße das Leben. Iss, trink und sei fröhlich!“ Doch Jesus warnt: „Aber Gott sagte zu ihm: ‚Wie dumm von dir! Du wirst noch heute Nacht sterben. Und wer wird dann das alles bekommen?‘ Ihr seht, wie dumm es ist, auf der Erde Reichtümer anzuhäufen und dabei nicht nach Reichtum bei Gott zu fragen.“

 

Wir müssen bei Gott reich sein und erkennen, dass alles, was wir haben, Gottes ist. Suchen Sie ihn und erkennen Sie seine Gegenwart bei allem, was Sie im Geschäft tun – und im ganzen Leben.
